What this site keeps, and who sees it
Most of this website is public and keeps nothing about its visitors. Mission Control, the members' area, is for club members and stores what they put in it. Here is what that means.
The public website
- No accounts, no cookies, no tracking across sites. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without cookies or personal data.
- Team names, mottos and patches, the club's history and photos, and the leadership board are published with the club's say-so. Photos come from the club's own Instagram.
- Events are public. Meetings and deadlines for one team are not shown.
Mission Control (members only)
Members sign in with their school Microsoft account, a Google account or a link emailed to them. The site keeps:
- Your name and email address, and if you add them, a photo, a phone number, your class year and a short bio.
- What you post: text, photos and videos, launch logs, event sign-ups, likes and replies.
- Your teams and your role on them.
- A sign-in cookie, and a record of changes to events (who made them, and when).
Everything in Mission Control is visible only to signed-in club members. Your email and phone number are shown only to your team's captains and to the club's admins, never on the public website, and never in search engines. Posts shared with one team are seen by that team and the admins only.
Photos and videos are stored with Cloudflare, which also runs the site. Camera details and location data are removed from photos when they are uploaded. Members get one summary email a day when there is news or an event tomorrow; it can be turned off in Profile, or with the link at the bottom of any such email.
Removing your information
You can edit or remove your photo, phone number and bio yourself in Profile, and delete your own posts. To leave the club's site entirely, or to have everything about you removed, email our advisor atbrownje@bsd405.org. Parents and guardians can ask on a student's behalf. An admin removes the account, and on request erases the posts and launch logs that went with it; the club keeps a copy of the database for a short while as a backup, after which the removed information is gone from there too.
